Poly fluoro ltd. Supplies lubrite slideway bearing material. It is an especially formulated ptfe low friction bearing material useful on machine guideways and gibs of machine tools. It is almost friction-free and gives stick-slip-free operation, positioning accuracy and repeatability, vibration dampening and reduced wear. Lubrite is fastened to the bearing surface with conventional industrial two-part epoxy after cleaning and degreasing the bare metal. Design consideration for lubrite guideways and gibs may comprise the following:
- elimination of external lubrication;
- dimensionally stable over extended temperature range [-250°c to +260°c];
- completely passive and non-solvent where applications are exposed to corrosion, fungus or bacteria, environment,
- maximum allowable bearing pressure up to 115 kgf/cm2; and easy machinability, if required, by conventional means.
Lubrite is being extensively used by most reputed machine tool manufacturers and has been widely accepted as an import substitute for turcite ® b slydway material. It comes as customised components or in stock shapes like rods, sheets, tapes and bushes.
